Customize Your Fabric with a State Map and Color Theme

I have a sweet friend who is completely devoted to her family. Many years ago, her son got a new job and moved his family 700 miles away. My friend couldn’t live without her precious grandchildren, so she sold her house and moved to the same town as her son. My friend, Grandma, was there for every baseball game, every dance recital and school play. Now, one of those precious grandchildren is about to graduate from college. But it’s 2020. The pandemic has made graduation ceremonies virtual at best. Grandma is heartbroken that there won’t be all the pomp and circumstance that goes with such a tremendous achievement. She really wants the graduation memorabilia. That got me thinking….

I made a special bag for her using the school colors and a state map. I placed a little graduation cap on the map where the school is located. Then I added the date of the graduation for her. I made a second bag for this picture, since I can’t sell official school merchandise. I think you get the idea. Here it is:

Girl Science Fabric by Zinnia’s Closet, Part 2

I have received several requests for more diversity on our custom Girl Science fabric. Each design has been updated to include multiple girls on the same design. Don’t forget: All fabric designed by Zinnia’s Closet can be customized to your specifications. You can change the girls to represent just who you want. Skin tones, body shape, hairstyles, eyeglasses, etc. can all be modified. Contact me with your ideas!

Medical Fabric by Zinnia’s Closet

Zinnia’s Closet has a new set of fabric designs! Introducing the Heroes Save Lives collection. This fabric was designed to honor all the medical professionals out there, to thank them for all that they do, and to recognize that they are true heroes. I hope that you will use this fabric to thank a doctor, nurse, respiratory therapist, pharmacist, medical laboratory technician, medical researcher, and all other medical professionals for everything that they do for us every day.

I’ve made two different patterns, as shown above. The first pattern has three different color schemes. If you’d like something made with this fabric, or would like to purchase it, please send me a message. These designs can also be adjusted to meet your specific needs- you can change the characters, colors, patterns, size, message, etc. You can even add a doctor name or hospital name to the design. Bee Fabric by Zinnia’s Closet

Happy Spring! Winter is finally over and I am so happy to see the flowers blooming and hear the birds chirping.

Just in time for spring, I have designed some colorful bee fabric! Bees are very important to our environment. I wanted to make a design that showed bees as friendly, and not scary. It seems like every small child I see runs away screaming as soon as they see a bee. Yes, bees do sting. But if you don’t bother them, they won’t bother you.

I’ve made four different patterns with these bees. I hope you enjoy them.

Girl Science Fabric by Zinnia’s Closet

Science was my first love. I studied chemistry and biology in school and worked for 10 years as a scientist before having my family. When I learned how to sew, I discovered science fabric! I couldn’t resist buying every pattern I could find. Over time I realized that many others enjoy the fabric as much as I do.

Earlier this year I decided to design my own science fabric, starting with my three favorite subjects: chemistry, biology and math. I wanted to appeal to girls, and make the designs fun and educational at the same time.

The chemistry design has a few simple calculations, along with colorful lab equipment and chemical elements. The biology fabric covers several areas of biology, from medicine to zoology to botany. The math fabric has some basic algebra and geometry, and interesting patterns such as the binary code and Fibonacci sequence.

I wanted to have some diversity in the designs as well. There are three different girls available with each pattern:
