I have a sweet friend who is completely devoted to her family. Many years ago, her son got a new job and moved his family 700 miles away. My friend couldn’t live without her precious grandchildren, so she sold her house and moved to the same town as her son. My friend, Grandma, was there for every baseball game, every dance recital and school play. Now, one of those precious grandchildren is about to graduate from college. But it’s 2020. The pandemic has made graduation ceremonies virtual at best. Grandma is heartbroken that there won’t be all the pomp and circumstance that goes with such a tremendous achievement. She really wants the graduation memorabilia. That got me thinking….
I made a special bag for her using the school colors and a state map. I placed a little graduation cap on the map where the school is located. Then I added the date of the graduation for her. I made a second bag for this picture, since I can’t sell official school merchandise. I think you get the idea. Here it is:
