Fabric Name- Flowers and STEMs Small designed by Robyriker
Material- 100% cotton fabric
Background color- Gray
Theme- Science
Description:
Celebrate the arrival of spring with this clever design from Robyriker! Flowers are intertwined with strands of DNA, gears and planets. There are circuit boards, binary number sequences, rockets, right triangles and physics formulas. The multi-colored flower has chemical elements written in the petals. Flowers and science are two of my favorite things, and I love how this design incorporates both. Science is fun!

Bubbling test tubes in test tube racks are displayed in this colorful pattern from the Science Fair 2 collection from Robert Kaufman. Some tubes have a flame, some have bubbles, and others have stars. Science is fun!
Fabric Name- Atomic Telescopes Blueberry designed by Rae Ritchie for Dear Stella
Material- 100% Cotton Fabric
Background Color- Dark Blue
Theme- Science, Astronomy
Description:
The Atomic collection by Rae Ritchie for Dear Stella has several science designs. This astronomy themed pattern showcases tossed telescopes in shades of brown, white and purple. Have you ever looked at the night sky through a telescope? Science is fun!
Fabric Name- Coffee as Science designed by Virginia Odien Surface Design
Material- 100% Cotton Fabric
Background Color- Blue
Theme- Science
Description:
This clever design by Virginia Odien shows coffee as science. Coffee beans are ground and placed in a flask with water. The beans are boiled and coffee is extracted, flowing into a smiling coffee mug. The mug containing plain water has a sad face. There is a caffeine molecule with two hearts in the middle of the purine. A water molecule, coffee pot, cream and sugar finish off the design.

The Lab Tools pattern in the Monster Lab fabric collection from Studio E displays tossed laboratory equipment on a red background. There are microscopes, calculators, flasks, safety goggles, test tube racks, graduated cylinders, calipers, petri dishes, magnifying glasses, magnets, pH meters, medicine droppers, thermometers and hanging scales.
Fabric Name- Planetary Missions Graphics and Formulas designed by Studio E Fabrics.
Material- 100% Cotton Fabric
Background Color- Black
Theme- Science, Outer Space
Description:
Engineers Week runs from February 20-26, 2022, and today we are sharing this Planetary Missions design from Studio E Fabrics. This design features aerodynamic forces and calculations related to flying, concentrating on escaping Earth’s gravity and flying in outer space.
The red letter section describes Vertical Ascent and the white letter section describes Vertical Descent. Both of these sections contain calculations to explain ballistic flight, the motion of a flying ball with drag.
The equations surrounding the right triangle describe the Lift to Drag Ratio, the balance of forces on a descending Wright Glider.
The yellow letter section shows the equation for the Law of Gravity, along with the constants for the mass of the Earth, the radius of the Earth, and the universal gravitation constant.
The orange letters under the rocket show the velocity effects on aerodynamic forces. Double the velocity, quadruple the lift and quadruple the drag.
The Solar System graphic shows the shape of the orbits of the planets around the Sun, along with the orbits of some comets and asteroids.
The Earth, Venus, Sun diagram doesn’t have any calculations associated with it. This diagram is often shown when explaining how the Astronomical Unit was first determined. One Astronomical Unit (AU) is the distance from the Earth to the Sun, and it was first calculated using geometry and the transit of Venus.
There is a lot of great science on this pattern. I hope you learned something new today. If you would like more information, visit NASA’s Glenn Research Center to see more detailed explanations of these formulas.
